A fire in the early hours of New Year's Day killed at least 40 people and injured 119, many of them seriously. The blaze broke out at Le Constellation, a bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana. Here's everything we know so far.

The identities of some young people caught in the bar blaze have been revealed. But the severity of burns mean it could take weeks for all victims to be identified. Authorities have now named the likely cause of the fire, but investigations are ongoing.

The request came after hours of questioning of the bar’s co-owners. Some 40 people died in the fire that broke out during a New Year’s celebration.
